Cross-Border MTPL Claims
Pandi Balt handles claims arising from road accidents where a European insurer requires local claims representation in one of the Baltic States.
The claims representative role includes handling and settling claims, collecting the information required for assessment of the case and communicating with the parties involved in the claims process.
Pandi Balt handles such matters within the framework of the European motor insurance rules reflected in Directive 2009/103/EC.
Case Assessment & Negotiation
When a claim is received, Pandi Balt examines the available information and claim documentation and communicates with the insurer, injured party and other relevant parties.
Where the parties have different positions concerning liability or the calculation of losses, Pandi Balt works with the insurer and negotiates the matter with the injured party.
Claims are handled in accordance with applicable local law. Local court practice and the guidelines of the relevant Motor Insurers’ Bureaux are also taken into account.
Where the applicable rules require consideration of foreign law, Pandi Balt follows the instructions of the liable insurer in relation to the handling and settlement of the claim.
Assessment of Losses & Expert Examinations
Depending on the individual case, Pandi Balt arranges evaluation and calculation of losses and independent surveys and expert examinations of vehicles and other property damaged in road accidents.
Medical examinations and expert assessments of injured persons may also be arranged where required.
Documents relating to the circumstances of the accident and the resulting losses can be examined and translated as part of the claims handling process.
Representation in the Baltic States
Pandi Balt represents clients in communication with injured parties and other third parties and may provide representation before state and municipal institutions and state courts where required by the individual matter.
Legal specialists can be involved where the claim requires additional legal assistance.
