For principals who need more than local attendance, Pandi Balt can take responsibility for an individual claim or an agreed portfolio through to resolution. The mandate can cover investigation, reserves, reporting, settlement authority, payments, recovery and closure in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

From First Notification to Closure

As a local Third-Party Administrator (TPA), Pandi Balt can undertake the following work within the principal’s agreed procedures and authority:

1. Notification Receive and register the claim, collect initial documents.
2. Investigation Establish circumstances, preserve evidence and coordinate local enquiries.
3. Assessment Examine liability and quantum, appoint specialists and recommend or revise reserves.
4. Handling Communicate with parties, coordinate experts and manage the claim.
5. Settlement Recommend or decide within agreed authority, negotiate and administer payments where mandated.
6. Recovery & Closure Pursue recovery or subrogation where appropriate, report and close the file.

Individual Claims & Claims Portfolios

Our role may range from a single complex claim to a portfolio in one or more Baltic States. Instructions may be given case by case or under a standing mandate with agreed procedures, authority limits, reporting requirements and service levels. The principal retains the oversight and control set out in that mandate.

Marine & P&I

For P&I Clubs, marine insurers and shipowners, we investigate marine claims, arrange surveys and loss assessment, coordinate technical specialists, assist with negotiations and settlement, and support recovery. Matters include cargo and crew claims, casualties and damage to port property.

Motor Insurance

For motor insurers, we handle MTPL, Green Card and cross-border claims. Depending on the mandate, we investigate accidents, assess liability and losses, arrange vehicle, property or medical examinations, communicate with claimants, negotiate settlements and administer claims through closure.

We coordinate surveyors, engineers, vehicle experts, medical specialists, laboratories and lawyers as each case requires. Pandi Balt remains the principal’s point of contact for the local work and resulting reports.

Authority, Reporting & Service Levels

Each mandate defines the relevant authority limits, reserve procedure, settlement and payment authority, reporting intervals, escalation route, service levels and closing requirements. Reporting can include initial assessments, reserve updates, status reports, settlement recommendations, expert findings and final claims reports.
